Sure, the photographers bring their A-game but couples these days are particular about their wedding poses. Thanks to Instagram and Pinterest, it is easy to show it to the photographer and get their moments captured. But on D-Day, it is a bit of a task to show these to your photographer.

What’s going to make it easier and stress-free for couples is to have a checklist that you can give your photographer. This way you both are on the same page.

Here’s an ultimate photography checklist:

Pre-wedding Ritual Photography Checklist

It isn’t really a Shaadi if the many traditions and rituals aren’t leading up to the main event. A typical Indian wedding lasts up to 5 days and this depends based on culture. Nevertheless, here are some common pre-wedding ritual photography checklists:

Engagement

It is the first official announcement of marriage by the couple and their families. Mostly this is an intimate ceremony and only near and dear ones are on the guest list. The couple exchange rings as a promise to walk the journey of life together.

1

Mehendi

Mehendi is a part of Shola Shringar or the 16 bridal adornments. It enhances the bridal look and the day itself a celebration altogether. Most brides get their partner’s name or initials as a part of the mehendi design and the groom has to find it later during the wedding ceremony.

The bride gets her feet and hand-designed with Mehendi and they say the darker the shade the more her future husband loves her. It is a fun celebration for the families.

2

Haldi

This is a ceremonial bath given to the bride and groom. Every person present in the ceremony gives their blessings and best wishes by applying haldi to the couple.

Haldi is believed to give glow to skin which is very much required to the couple just before the big day. Another major reason for celebrating Haldi is because the color yellow is auspicious and ushers in a life of prosperity for the couple.

SANGEETH/ COCKTAIL PARTY

We all have seen Geet and Aditya have a baller at Geet’s sister’s pre-wedding ritual in Jab We Met. This is just a glimpse of how much fun a Sangeeth ceremony can be. It is usually held evenings and a stage is set up. It is also sometimes clubbed with cocktail parties and yes, they are all as lively as Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani’s Badtameez Dil!

It is one of the most favorite and cherished ceremonies. There’s all the drama, fun, love, and laughter.
